Kundalini Yoga teacher Bir Jiwan Kaur on her life Mallorca

Myllorca with yoga teacher Bir Jiwan Kaur

MC – When did you start to live on Mallorca?

BJ – I live on Mallorca since June 21, 2017, that is little over a year. I had not noticed until recently when I took a look at my ticket and realized that I had arrived on a very special date:
it was summer solstice – and a new beginning in my life.

MC – When did you decide to come live here?

BJ – Sometimes there are decisions that you feel you have to make and you still don´t know at all why. It’s what happened to me, life took me here. I decided to live here because I fell in love. I was living in Paris, missed seeing the horizon and wanted to move. I did not know where or how it was going to happen. A friend introduced me to Mallorca in April of last year and in less than three months I already lived here! I followed my intuition. At that time, I was not aware that this person was a romantic circumstance for a superior reason and what I needed to develop awaited me here.

MC – What makes Mallorca so special?

BJ – Mallorca is a very special island due to its incredible nature and multicultural and open population. In my eyes these two aspects make me feel balanced, on the one hand being part of this community and able to share kundalini yoga through my work, expressing and nurturing myself in a creative and conscious environment. On the other hand, I retire in the wildest places hidden and precious, the mountains and bays that regenerate my soul.

MC – Where and when can we practice yoga with you?

BJ – You can come to practice Kundalini yoga with me, mainly in RA MA Mallorca, Calle Despuig 51, Palma. In the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and in the afternoon from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I also teach Hatha yoga on Mondays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Kika Más Wellness Center, Calle Moliners 1, Palma. I also offer private lessons.

MC – What are your favorite places on the island?

BJ – My favorite places on Mallorca are the following without order of preference:

To practice yoga and find my spiritual community: RA MA Mallorca, Calle Despuig 51, Palma;

For an incredible sunset and diving: the bay of Llucalcari;

To eat a croissant better than in France: Thomas Bakeshop, Carrer Aníbal 24, Palma;

To dance on Saturdays at noon: the “Wake up dance” in Deià or “morning dance” in RA MA (information on Facebook);

For a golden chai on a super cute terrace after class: Mama Carmen’s, Carrer Cervantes 21, Palma;

And for a drink with the best views of the cathedral and over the historic centre:
The Rooftop Bar at the Hotel Almudaina, Avenida Jaime III 9, Palma.

Sat Nam & love, Bir Jiwan.
