Our boat, the Audaç
Our boat is a typical llaüt, built in Portocolom on an old shipyard by so called “Mestres d’aixa”, the old shipbuilders of Mallorca. The Audaç was built in 1968, and is completely made of wood.
At first the Audaç was used for a rather obscure purpose, as according to stories in its early years it was used to smuggle tobacco. Later is was used in a way more similar to its current use; in the 80s it became a passenger vessel, transporting the people of Portocolom from the old port to the beach s’Arenal.
The Audaç was a private boat for some time until LLAÜT MALLORCA recovered it in order to use it in the original way, using it for people to enjoy the sea …
