XTANT: A Sacred Journey Through Textile and Craft on Mallorca
XTANT returns to Palma de Mallorca every year, exploring how textiles and crafts embody our shared cultural and spiritual heritage.
The exhibition continues to grow as a must-attend event for global fiber artists, master artisans, designers, collectors, and cultural enthusiasts, celebrating craft as both a profound art form and an expression of humanity.
Curated by Kavita Parmar, XTANT’s cofounder and creative visionary, the editions feature participants from over 35 countries, with a special emphasis on artisans and designers from the Global South, including Africa, Latin America, and South Asia.
XTANT’s hallmark is its ability to weave together diverse traditions, creating a space where ancient wisdom meets contemporary design.
The Art & Artisan Gallery
Set within the historic 15th century palace Can Vivot, the Art and Artisan Gallery will bring together more than 75 exhibitors selected from hundreds of global applicants. The vibrant gallery /marketplace offers visitors a chance to meet master artisans, purchase unique handmade goods, and witness the beauty of ancient techniques in a lively, interactive setting.
DAILY TALKS & PANEL DISCUSSIONS
XTANT will also host a series of engaging talks and panels, featuring renowned speakers, including master artisans, thought leaders, and visionaries from around the world.
INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP
An expanded range of workshops led by master crafts people and celebrated fibre artists will be available daily during the festival. From hand spining, hand loom weaving, nuno felting, natural dyeing, darning and repairing, embroidery to other innovative techniques, the program fosters hands-on creativity and a deeper appreciation for craft traditions.
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
As part of its commitment to fostering cross-cultural collaboration, XTANT will once again host its acclaimed Leadership Program.
This program continues to serve as a thinktank and incubator for changemakers. This immersive summit will gather thought leaders, designers, and artisans to engage in dialogue, co-creation, and the exploration of new narratives for heritage preservation and sustainability in the world of fibres and textiles.
XTANT is more than a festival—it is a movement. By exploring, XTANT reaffirms its mission to preserve the sacredness of craft, nurture the connections between artisans and audiences, and inspire a more thoughtful, sustainable future.
